Australian Govt to 'vehemently oppose' moves to remove Sydney Airport slots for regional services

Australia's Deputy Prime Minister Michael McCormack responded (11-Jul-2018) to Tourism and Transport Forum Australia's proposal to deregulate the activity at Sydney Airport, stating: "Access to Sydney Airport for regional airlines is protected by legislation, including pricing protections and the establishment of a pool of slots available only for regional NSW operations". Mr McCormack added he would "vehemently oppose" any proposals to remove Wagga Wagga's regional landing and take off slots at Sydney Airport, and that protections for regional air services has bipartisan support.
