Australian Government endorses health guidelines to give passengers confidence

18 June, 2020

Australia's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Regional Development Michael McCormack stated (19-Jun-2020) Australia's Government endorsed health guidelines, supported by key authorities, to give confidence to passengers travelling "in the post-pandemic era". The government worked collaboratively with the aviation industry to develop the 'Domestic Passenger Journey Protocol', which will provide clear and consistent advice to domestic travellers. The protocol is informed by health advice from the Australian Health Protection Principal Committee, as well as guidance from international aviation authorities, including IATA. Implementation of the protocol will be reviewed regularly and may be modified if circumstances change, and is in addition to other inflight measures, including changes in service, hygiene and environmental measures.
