Australian Airports Association calls on Govt to increase funding for regional airport security

Australian Airports Association (AAA) called (14-Jan-2019) on the Government to increase security requirements at regional airports following media that Whyalla Council may experience a AUD1 million (USD720,000) funding shortfall to meet new security requirements. AAA policy director Simon Bourke added: “With 60% of regional airports already facing persistent budget deficits, it is essential government and industry work together to recognise the real impact of these changes”.
