Australia's Ministry of Foreign Affairs added nationals from Taiwan to the list of those permanently approved to used the SmartGate self-processing e-passport control system, effective 06-Nov-2017 (Taiwan Today, 07-Nov-2017). The inclusion of Taiwan follows a two year technical trial.
