Auckland International Airport GM of operations Anna Cassels-Brown, speaking at the CAPA New Zealand Aviation & Corporate Travel Summit, stated (16-Oct-2019) unconscious bias plays a "large part" in all recruitment. She noted that if you are not capable of "checking yourself" and "understanding the biases that you bring" then you will "probably" appoint someone similar to yourself. She also stated Auckland Airport expects to be the only New Zealand Exchange company with a majority female board at its next AGM.
