Auckland Airport cargo volumes down 43% in Apr-2020

Auckland International Airport reported (04-Jun-2020) cargo volumes decreased 43% year-on-year and capacity dropped 53% in Apr-2020. Five airlines operated 94 freighter services at the airport in Apr-2020, while 11 airlines operated 158 cargo services using passenger aircraft. The coronavirus crisis drove strong growth in certain cargo categories such as personal protective equipment, cleaning products, respiratory equipment and laptops, while other categories declined, including clothing, shoes, skin care products, machinery and vehicle parts.
