Here are the key executive changes for Mar/Apr-2020;

  • Pakistan International Airlines appointed Aslam R Khan as chairman, effective 09-Mar-2020
  • Thai Airways' board approved the resignation of president and board member Sumeth Damrongchaitham, effective 11-Apr-2020.
  • Tigerair Taiwan announced the appointment of Chen Han-ming as chairman, succeeding Chang Horng-jong who retired on 12-Mar-2020.
  • Peach appointed deputy CEO Takeaki Mori as representative director and CEO, effective 01-Apr-2020, succeeding Shinichi Inoue, who will become senior executive vice president of All Nippon Airways.
  • All Nippon Airways announced the following executive changes effective 01-Apr-2020:
    • Yutaka Ito: Senior EVP;
    • Ichiro Fukuzawa: CFO;
    • Chikako Miyata: SVP legal & insurance;
    • Koji Shibata: EVP;
    • Shinichi Inoue: Senior EVP - sales and marketing, chief promotion officer for the Tokyo Olympic and Paralympic Games;
    • Toshiaki Toyama: EVP - cargo marketing and services;
    • Junichiro Miyagawa: EVP - alliances & international affairs;
    • Emiko Kajita: EVP - ANA brand inflight services
  • Thai Airways announced plans to appoint Chakkrit Parapuntakul as acting president, effective 23-Mar-2020.
  • AirAsia's board resolved to reinstate Tony Fernandes as CEO and Kamarudin Meranun as executive chairman, effective immediately. The appointment of Bo Lingam as acting CEO was rescinded.
  • Air Do announced the resignation of senior managing director Kazutoshi Tsujimura, effective 31-Mar-2020. The carrier also announced the following change in responsibilities for Susumu Kusano: New duties include chairman of the board of directors.
  • Korean Air announced its board of directors approved splitting the company's CEO and chairman roles, appointing Jeong Kap-young as chairman and Walter Cho as CEO.
  • Nippon Cargo Airlines' board appointed Toshiaki Kobori as director and Tetsuo Mizuno as SVP, effective immediately. Hiroyuki Homma was promoted to MD.
  • Scoot announced Campbell Wilson assumed the role of CEO, effective immediately. Mr Wilson replaces Lee Lik Hsin, who was appointed Singapore Airlines EVP commercial. Mr Wilson previously served as Scoot CEO from 2012 to 2016.
  • Thai Airways announced plans to appoint Chakkrit Parapuntakul as acting CEO, effective 11-Apr-2020.
  • Air New Zealand appointed Joe McCollum as chief people officer, effective 14-Apr-2020. Air New Zealand contracted Paul Driver to support Mr McCollum with the workforce change management process underway.
  • StarFlyer announced the appointment of Masaharu Shirouzu as representative director, president and CEO, succeeding Sadami Matsuishi, who is retiring. Upon retirement, Mr Matsuishi will become an advisor to the airline. The appointment will become formal at the carrier's shareholders meeting scheduled on 25-Jun-2020.
  • Tigerair Taiwan announced the appointment of Chang Ming-wei as COO, succeeding Lai Chun-ti, who was also acting president, effective 18-Apr-2020.
  • Lao Airlines appointed Khamla Phommavanh as new CEO under the supervision of Laos' Ministry of Public Works and Transport.
  • Shenzhen Airlines announced the appointment of Chen Zhiyong as chairman, succeeding Song Zhiyong, effective 01-Apr-2020.
  • China Eastern Airlines updated members of its board of directors as follows:
    • Chairman: Liu Shaoyong;
    • Vice chairman and president: Li Yingmin
