Armenia to prepare strategy on development of civil aviation

Armenia's Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan announced (03-Jul-2019) the operation of national air carriers is a key component of the government's development policy and that in preparing a strategy, tactics and roadmap to achieve the goal, normal operations of civil aviation must not be interfered with. Mr Pashinyan said: "We strategically need competitive carriers, capable of competing with each other and with their international competitors. We must proceed with well devised and consistent steps". A draft on the development of civil aviation in Armenia was presented and will be used as a basis for developing civil aviation policies, clarifying the functions and responsibilities of relevant state agencies, reforming the applicable legal framework and developing a specific action plan.
