Argentina Ministry of Transport removes minimum price for cabotage fares

Argentina's Ministry of Transport announced (02-Jul-2018) plans to remove the minimum fare price requirement for tickets purchased 30 days in advice on cabotage services, which will allow airlines to offer cheaper fares. The government stated this measure is expected to increase forward bookings and boost load factor throughout Argentina. Minister of Transport Guillermo Dietrich stated it will also allow more passengers to travel, while enhancing connectivity. The Ministry also noted more than 59 domestic services have been launched since 2015, 33 of which do not connect via Buenos Aires. Cabotage passengers increased 36% compared to 2015.
