AOPA warns of pilot/training crisis as the 'general aviation industry is completely on its knees'

26 July, 2018

Australian Airline Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) executive director Ben Morgan said the aviation industry in Australia is facing a "pilot crisis" and flight training schools are closing which is "being driven by the fact that the general aviation industry is completely on its knees" (The Australian, 25-Jul-2018). According to Mr Morgan, a refusal by Australian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Infrastructure and Transport Michael McCormack to support planned reforms to general aviation regulations could affect the viability of smaller aviation operators in Australia.
