Americas appointment highlights of the month – August 2018

Here are the key executive changes for August 2018:

  • Delta Air Lines announced SVP of flight operations Steve Dickson plans to retire on 01-Oct-2018.
  • Akron Canton Airport appointed Renato Camacho as president and CEO, effective 01-Oct-2018. He succeeds Rick McQueen who will retire on 31-Dec-2018.
  • Reno-Tahoe Airport Authority appointed Lisa Gianoli as chair of the board that oversees Reno-Tahoe International Airport on 08-Aug-2018.
  • Boeing appointed Brendan Curran as president of Boeing AvionX on 13-Aug-2018, an organisation formed in 2017 to pursue the development and production of avionics and electronics systems.
  • Ontario International Airport Authority appointed Atif Elkadi as deputy executive director on 14-Aug-2018. Mr Elkadi presently serves as chief commercial officer.
  • Southwest Airlines announced the following executive changes:
    • Mark Shaw promoted to EVP, chief legal officer, regulatory officer and corporate secretary;
    • Jason Van Eaton promoted to SVP of governmental affairs and real estate;
  • Massachusetts Port Authority (Massport) appointed CFO John Pranckevicius as acting CEO, effective 17-Nov-2018. Mr Pranckevicius replaces Thomas Glynn, who plans to retire after serving as CEO for six years.
  • SKY Airline plans to brand its Peru subsidiary as SKY Peru and appointed Jose Raul Vargas as GM.
  • Bombardier appointed Danny Di Perna as COO aerospace, effective 15-Sep-2018.
  • United Airlines promoted SVP of finance, procurement, treasurer and acting CFO Gerry Laderman to the position of EVP and CFO on 22-Aug-2018.
  • Delta Air Lines announced the following executive changes on 23-Aug-2018:
    • David Garrison appointed CEO of Endeavor Air and SVP of Delta Connection and Delta Global Services;
    • Sandy Gordon promoted to SVP of airport operations domestic stations;
    • Erik Snell promoted to SVP of operations and customer centre;
    • Gary Hammes to be appointed as VP of engineering and quality assurance. Mr Hammes was previously CEO of Delta Private Jets.
  • Raytheon Company announced the appointment of Roy Azevedoas as president, Space and Airborne Systems (SAS), effective 01-Sep-2018.
  • WestJet appointed Captain Jeffrey Martin as chief operating officer, effective 24-Sep-2018.
