American Airlines updates baggage fees for travel to South America

American Airlines, via its official website, updated (Jan-2020) its baggage fees for travel to/from South America to disallow a free first checked bag for Basic economy passengers travelling to Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, El Salvador, Panama, Paraguay, Peru and Uruguay. Basic economy passengers will be required to pay a USD30 fee for their first checked bag when travelling to Panama, Colombia and Ecuador and USD45 for travel to South America.
