American Airlines signs strategic partnership deal and codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways

    American Airlines signed (25-Feb-2020) a strategic partnership deal and codeshare agreement with Qatar Airways. As previously reported by CAPA, American Airlines terminated its previous codeshare with Qatar Airways in 2017. American Airlines CEO Doug Parker stated: “The issues that led to the suspension of our partnership two years ago have been addressed and we believe resuming our codeshare agreement will allow us to provide service to markets that our customers, team members and shareholders value, including new growth opportunities for American Airlines“. The codeshare agreement will allow Qatar Airways to codeshare on all of American Airlines‘ domestic services from BostonDallasChicago O’Hare, Los Angeles, Miami, New York and Philadelphia, as well as international services to and from Europe and Latin America/Caribbean. Meanwhile, American Airlines will be able to codeshare with Qatar Airways on all USQatar services, and beyond to other destinations in the Middle EastEast AfricaSouth Asia, the Indian Ocean and South East Asia, subject to regulatory approval.
