American Airlines reportedly talking to Airbus about the A321XLR

American Airlines reportedly entered talks with Airbus concerning the A321XLR, a proposed extended range version of the A321LR (Bloomberg, 09-Jun-2019). Airbus has not formally offered the aircraft, but has been engaged in discussions with a number of potential customers for the aircraft, including JetBlue Airways, Air Malta, IndiGo, Azul and AirAsia. The aircraft will reportedly offer range of up to 4400nm, approximately 10% greater than the existing A321LR.
