American Airlines opens four gates at Charlotte Douglas International Airport

American Airlines opened four gates at Charlotte Douglas International Airport, bringing its number of expected daily departures to 700 on 18-Dec-2019 (Forbes, 18-Nov-2019). American Airlines SVP of network and strategy Vasu Raja said the additional gates will enable the carrier to "bring more flights into Charlotte" and upgauge equipment, adding the A321XLR will allow it to "grow internationally and use the same gates that an A321 does".
