US Department of Transportation (DoT) received (23-Jan-2019) a reply from American Airlines regarding Delta Air Lines and United Airlines' objection to its motion for US-China route flexibility. American said it is the only US carrier holding US-China 'Zone 1' frequencies without the flexibility to make changes to its routes. Regarding its previously denied application for US-China flexibility, American noted it had no China frequencies at the time and was not in the market, adding that is no longer the case.
