American Airlines: Haneda and China are core components of trans Pacific network

US Department of Transportation (DoT) received (23-Jan-2019) a reply from American Airlines regarding Delta Air Lines and United Airlines' objection to its motion for US-China route flexibility. American said it is the only US carrier holding US-China 'Zone 1' frequencies without the flexibility to make changes to its routes. Regarding its previously denied application for US-China flexibility, American noted it had no China frequencies at the time and was not in the market, adding that is no longer the case. American also said that Haneda and China are not unrelated markets but core components of Delta and American's trans Pacific networks, subject to similar conditions. [more - original PR]
