American Airlines CEO: UAE, Qatar subsidy of ME3 'unlike anything we've ever seen before'

American Airlines CEO Doug Parker said the UAE and Qatar have subsidised Emirates, Etihad Airways and Qatar Airways "unlike anything we've ever seen before", adding this produces an "enormous threat to commercial aviation and the United States" (Business Insider Australia, 16-May-2019). Mr Parker noted Qatar Airways' 49% stake in Air Italy "didn't seem within the spirit of the [US-Qatar] agreement", saying everyone should be "participating in the spirit of what they agreed to, and that would be that airline [Qatar Airways] also doesn't have any flights from outside the Gulf to the United States".
