19 March, 2019

ALTA executive director Luis Felipe de Oliveira, via his personal LinkedIn account, welcomed (15-Mar-2019) the Brazilian Government's decree which eliminates the need for visas for citizens from Australia, Canada, Japan and US. Mr Oliveira stated: "Brazil receives a bit more than six million foreign tourists p/a, less than neighbouring countries and much less than Mexico with 40 million visitors". He added: "The measure will boost the aviation industry, tourism and employment". Brazil's Ministry of Tourism expects the measure will contribute for the country to reach 12 million foreign tourists by 2022.
