ALTA DG on Mexico: 'I do not believe this growth is sustainable in the long term', costs must drop

ALTAdirector general Luis Felipe de Oliveira stated Mexico needs to change its regulatory framework as the current structure is not sustainable (A21, 21-Jul-2019). Mr de Oliveira stated: "We see a lot of competition in Mexico. Airlines really fight for the passengers leading to a drop in prices but the costs maintain elevated". Mr de Oliveira added that with the current framework, "I do not believe this growth is sustainable in the long term… Airlines need a reduction in costs".
