Allentown Lehigh Valley's USD22m project to fix 'bottlenecks' and 'traffic flow' in terminal

9 December, 2019

Lehigh-Northampton Airport Authority executive director Thomas Stoudt stated an increase in passenger numbers and outdated facilities at Allentown Lehigh Valley International Airport has prompted the implementation of the USD22 million expansion project, scheduled to commence in Jan-2021 (The Brown and White, 06-Dec-2019). Mr Stoudt said the inbound and outbound flow of passengers at the airport are "intermingled", which "creates some bottlenecks" with "traffic flow inside the terminal". As previously reported by CAPA, the project includes the construction of a connector between the main terminal and the departure building and the expansion and relocation of the TSA checkpoint.
