Allegiant Air to withdraw from Colorado Springs after 16 years

Allegiant Air plans to suspend service to Colorado Springs on 29-Apr-2018, after operating to the destination for 16 years (The Gazette). The carrier operates twice weekly Las Vegas-Colorado Springs service, with Frontier Airlines operating daily on the route. The airline handled 1515 passengers on outbound services in the two months to 28-Feb-2018, equating to 1.2% of total passenger numbers. Allegiant spokeswoman Krysta Levy commented: “Our decision to end service from Colorado Springs was based entirely on a lack of demand in the area… We are grateful for more than a decade of partnership with the Colorado Springs Airport.”
