All Nippon Airways outlines plans to reduce use of single use plastics

All Nippon Airways (ANA) announced (Nov-2019) plans to reduce its reliance on single use plastics inside its cabins and lounges. From 01-Feb-2020, ANA will replace plastic straws, stirring sticks and cutlery with eco-friendly bioplastic or paper straws while the new stirring sticks and cutlery will be made of wood. As part of the airline's efforts to improve sustainability, the ANA Group also adopted ICAO's Monitoring, Reporting, Verification emission mitigation approach for the global airline industry at the beginning of 2019.
