Alitalia plans to expand codeshare operations between New Zealand and Australia operated by Virgin Australia over northern winter 2018/19 (Routes Online, 19-Sep-2018). Planned codeshare routes from 27-Oct-2018 include:
- Auckland-Brisbane;
- Auckland-Melbourne;
- Queenstown-Melbourne;
- Wellington-Sydney.
