Alitalia efficiency, quality of service improving 'despite the competitiveness of the market'

Alitalia extraordinary commissioner Stefano Paleari said the airline has "recovered efficiency and quality of service" and restored trust in employees "despite the competitiveness of the market" (Il Sore 24 Ore, 07-Feb-2019). He conceded the company is "not yet profitable", however affirmed EBITDA losses roughly halved to EUR153 million in 2018, "and we expect to break even in 2019". A new business plan and signing with a new commercial partner is expected by Mar-2019 and be finalised ready for summer 2019, Mr Paleari added.
