Alaska Airlines CCO Andrew Harrison stated the first reconfigured Airbus aircraft will enter service in Sep-2018, and the additional seats will reduce the Airbus fleet's CASM and result in a meaningful increase in first class seats as well as premium class (Seeking Alpha, 25-Jan-2018). The carrier also plans to address upsell and segmentation opportunities once it moves to a single reservation system, which "the legacy carriers are executing on today and that we have not been able to participate in". He added: "There are a number of ways for us to participate. Basic economy is just one of those, fair families and ancillary bundles are others".
