Airports Fiji Ltd (AFL) executive chairperson Faiz Khan stated air transportation is the greatest enabler for the Pacific region, whose economies are heavily reliant on air connectivity (Fiji Times, 23-Jan-2018). He commented: "Our economies are heavily reliant on air connectivity for generating trade and tourism for economic growth... It is important that we continue to upskill our people through trainings to ensure our airports are safe, integrated, efficient and sustainable for air travel in today's jet age".
