Airline consolidation not affecting NextGen implementation: FAA

    CANSO chair and US FAA Air Traffic Organization COO Teri Bristol stated (22-Feb-2018) the agency is “not seeing any of the timelines involved in NextGen implementation lengthen as a result of airline consolidation”. She said: “If anything, the timelines are shortening. There are obviously fewer divergent views… Agreement and implementation is easier to achieve”. Ms Bristol emphasised while the overall NextGen implementation strategy has not changed, there are “some differences in traffic flow”, for example traffic in the Midwest “is down, but in California and across the south it has increased”.
