Airbus: Larger A220 is 'not a question of if, but when'

Airbus chief commercial officer Christian Scherer said development of a larger version of the A220 is "not a question of if, but when", although a new variant of the family is not currently under consideration (Reuters, 18-Dec-2019). As previously reported by CAPA, Air France-KLM revealed in Nov-2019 it was interested in "possible A220-500 equipment". Airbus Canada partnership CEO Philippe Balducci also confirmed in Nov-2019 that there was "potential" for a stretched version of the A220.
