Airbus 'having very interesting conversations with Qantas' regarding 'Project Sunrise' project

Airbus head of A350 marketing Marisa Lucas-Ugena said Airbus was "having very interesting conversations with Qantas" about the carrier's 'Project Sunrise' project, which would see the carrier operate nonstop from Australia's east cost to New York and London (Fairfax Media, 13-Feb-2018). "We are evaluating what they want and they are evaluating what they [the A350] can do", Ms Lucas-Ugena said. Airbus is "very well placed" to provide the aircraft for the project, Ms Lucas-Ugena said, adding: "We designed the aeroplane to cover long haul routes".
