Airbus completes first North Atlantic flight with A321LR

Airbus announced (14-Feb-2018) the A321LR completed a Paris Le Bourget-New York JFK nonstop test flight. The aircraft was powered by two CFM International LEAP-1A engines. The flight is part of nearly 100 hours of flight tests for airworthiness certification, which is expected to be granted in 2Q2018. The OEM stated the test flight demonstrates the aircraft's capability to serve new markets and operate on heavily travelled North Atlantic routes.
