AirAsia India to commence international services in Sep/Oct-2019

AirAsia India COO Sanjay Kumar reported the LCC plans to commence international services in Sep/Oct-2019, "subject to regulatory approvals" (Economic Times/Business Standard/Live Mint, 20-May-2019). Mr Kumar stated: "Our plan is to first fly to the Southeast Asian market and start with flights to Bangkok and Kuala Lumpur. Our target is that we will fly about 7%-8% of our total available seat kilometres to international locations in the first year of operations". He added that AirAsia India aims to expand its international network in its second year of operations to include destinations in mainland China, west Asia and Commonwealth of Independent States countries.
