AirAsia Group CEO Tony Fernandes, via his official Twitter account, stated (16-Jul-2019) Malaysia “desperately needs an integrated tourism plan. No exit tax, lower visa fees or no visa fees”. Mr Fernandes added tourism should be developed in East Malaysia, Terengganu and Desaru to “invest and get more jobs and GDP”.
