Air Vanuatu secures government loan to support acquisition of four Airbus aircraft

Vanuatu's Government and Air Vanuatu reportedly entered an agreement to acquire four Airbus aircraft (Daily Post, 25-Apr-2019). The carrier signed a VUV380 million (USD3.3 million) loan agreement to cover pre-delivery payments for the aircraft. The loan follows on from an earlier VUV850 million (USD7.4 million) payment related to the aircraft made in early 2019. According to the CAPA Fleet Database, the carrier has two A220-100s and two A220-300s on order. Delivery of the company's first aircraft is expected in Jun-2020, followed by two more in 2021 and the final aircraft in 2022.
