Air Transat co-founder Jean-Marc Eustache stated the increasing emergence of ultra low cost carriers could be "a challenge in the long run", and that it is "following the situation closely" (Routes Online, 24-Jan-2019). Mr Eustache added the Canadian market is "different from those of the Americas and Europe" because of its size, low population density and high airport taxes and fees.
