Air Seychelles to introduce new baggage policy in Jul-2018

Air Seychelles announced (15-Jun-2018) plans to introduce a new baggage policy on its regional network, effective 01-Jul-2018. The new structure will be based on total weight rather than the number of bags and covers destinations including Abu Dhabi, Johannesburg, Mauritius, Mumbai and Seychelles. Business class passengers will be entitled to 40kg of checked baggage and economy class passengers will by entitled to 30kg. Business and economy class passengers on Abu Dhabi service connecting onto Etihad Airways will be entitled to 40kg. Air Seychelles CEO Remco Althuis said: "Switching from the piece concept to a total weight based baggage structure will align Air Seychelles with the industry best practice", and added: "We have also made the excess baggage rates more attractive".
