Air Peace CEO criticises Nigeria's Government for signing SAATM treaty

20 February, 2018

Air Peace CEO Allen Onyema criticised Nigeria's Government for signing the Single African Air Transport Market (SAATM) treaty with the African Union, believing the agreement does not favour Nigerian airlines (The Sun, 19-Feb-2018). Mr Onyema stated: "Other countries use high airport and regulatory charges to discourage Nigerian airlines from operating to their cities, but when they come to Nigeria they pay relatively less charges than what they levy Nigerian carriers in their countries".
