Air Niugini to invest in MRO hangar facilities at Port Moresby Jacksons International Airport

22 February, 2018

Air Niugini CEO Simon Foo announced (21-Feb-2018) the carrier plans to invest in hangar facilities at Port Moresby Jacksons International Airport which will eventually allow heavy MRO of aircraft to be carried out in Papua New Guinea. Mr Foo said this results in cost savings and further up-skilling of the national work force. Mr Foo added that the new MRO facility will reduce overseas expenditure as well as build staff capacity at PNG Engineering. In 2017, the first Dash 8 aircraft heavy check was done in Port Moresby and Air Niugini expects another to be completed in mid-2018. [more - original PR]
