Air Niugini resumes domestic operations

Air Niugini announced (03-Apr-2020) plans to reinstate domestic services on 06-Apr-2020, as Papua New Guinea's Government lifted domestic travel restrictions. Air Niugini is rolling out additional safeguards on all domestic services to mitigate coronavirus risks, and further enhanced requirements in the border provinces of Vanimo, Sandaun Province and Daru. This includes heightened security and health checks at the airports. Air Niugini acting CEO Bruce Alabaster stated: "The domestic operations will resume but build up to our normal schedule once demand picks up" with some services combined and equipment upgraded or downgraded.
