Air Niugini MD Alan Milne, via the carrier's official inflight magazine, reported (Jan-2020) the airline's "priority for the next two to three years will be a replacement for our narrowbody jet aircraft, followed shortly thereafter by a replacement for our widebodied 767s". Mr Milne stated the airline is "working with the various manufacturers to see what aircraft will best suit our purposes". Air Niugini aims to reduce costs, improve on time performance, reliability, lower operating cost base and enable lower airfares.
