Air New Zealand: ‘We would just love more capacity at Auckland international’

Air New Zealand CEO Christopher Luxon praised the Auckland International Airport master plan, that includes one terminal for international and domestic passengers by 2022 and potentially a second runway by 2028, saying the airline and airport goals needed to be aligned (Stuff, 28-Sep-2017). “We have out teams working on that. It’s just that I would have liked it all yesterday”, he said, adding: “We would just love more capacity at Auckland international in particular and that’s a conversation with the airport company because fundamentally I think we’re probably going to need two or three lounges at Auckland [international] airport because it is our hub and as we grow and bring Australians through New Zealand to South and North America, we’re going to need much more capacity. So that’s a constant conversation”.
