Air New Zealand reiterates criticisms of airport monopoly positions and charges

Air New Zealand head of government and industry affairs Duncan Small reiterated the carrier’s recent criticisms of the market power of airports in New Zealand, during a hearing at the New Zealand Parliament Transport and Infrastructure Select Committee (newsroom.co.nz, 05-Jun-2018). According to Mr Small, Auckland Airport and other New Zealand airports are being used as “monopoly assets” which can be used to extract “greater and greater sums” from their customers.
