Air New Zealand reported (18-Jan-2019) the following sustainability achievements in the past 12 months:
- 7300 tonnes of carbon saved by using electricity to power aircraft while stationed;
- 8700 tonnes of carbon offset from Air New Zealand employee business travel;
- Close to 27,000 tonnes of carbon offset by customers in 2018 through the FlyNeutral programme;
- More than 16 million individual items onboard aircraft recovered for reuse or recycling through the Project Green initiative
- Removal of single use plastic items from onboard aircraft and lounges. [more - original PR]
