Air New Zealand outlines short, medium and long term priorities

    Air New Zealand outlined (27-Aug-2020) the following short, medium and long term priorities:

    • Short term:
      • Maintain operational integrity and staff wellbeing;
      • Maintain connections with customers and encourage New Zealanders to travel New Zealand and rebuild the domestic engine;
      • Support recovery of the economy via cargo;
    • Medium term:
      • Build back a network of profitable flying;
      • Preserve and protect competitive advantages;
      • Leverage strong domestic brand presence and customer loyalty to stimulation travel on Tasman and Pacific Island routes;
    • Long term:
      • Return sustainable level of earning through the cycle;
      • Smaller more efficient airline, focussed on optimal network;
      • Right sized cost base;
      • Expand and leverage loyalty programme;
      • Ancillary revenue opportunities.
