Air New Zealand launches promotion to attract Chinese visitors to Wellington

Air New Zealand launched a promotion in the Chinese market offering up to 1000 free connecting services within New Zealand to Chinese travellers (stuff.co.nz, 14-Aug-2017). The promotion has been launched in partnership with Wellington Airport, with coordination by the Wellington Regional Economic Development Agency. Air New Zealand passengers flying from Shanghai and Hong Kong will be offered a free connection from Auckland or Christchurch to Wellington. Air New Zealand CEO Christopher Luxon reported Chinese visitors to Wellington rose 17% year-on-year in Jun-2017.
