Air New Zealand announced plans to increase domestic fares by 5% from 17-May-2018, with the carrier confirming: "We are increasing domestic airfares by five per cent in response to operational cost pressures, including labour, fuel, goods and services, which we're unable to continue to absorb" (News Talk/Newshub/Stuff.co.nz, 15-May-2018). International fares are also understood to be under review.
