Air New Zealand reported (28-Jun-2019) passengers "spent thousands of hours" connected to the carrier's inflight WiFi. The airline noted its London-Los Angeles service on the day of the Christchurch shooting tragedy (15-Mar-2019) as the highest WiFi uptake in the past year "suggesting the ability to stay in touch with loved ones at stressful times is important to travellers".
