Air New Zealand confirms Airbus and Boeing aircraft under consideration for long haul fleet renewal

    Air New Zealand confirmed it is considering both Airbus and Boeing aircraft types for its upcoming long haul fleet replacement order, which will be used to phase out its Boeing 777-200ER fleet in “the first half of the next decade” (Stuff, 11-Feb-2018). The carrier confirmed the A350-1000 is one of the aircraft under consideration. According to the CAPA Fleet Database, Air New Zealand’s widebody fleet comprises eight Boeing 777-200ERs, seven Boeing 777-300ERs and 11 Boeing 787-9s, with another three on order.
