Air New Zealand announces new cabin product, Economy Stretch

Air New Zealand chief revenue officer Cam Wallace, speaking at the CAPA New Zealand Aviation & Corporate Travel Summit, announced (16-Oct-2019) a new cabin product for Air New Zealand's Boeing 787 and 777 fleet, called Economy Stretch. Economy Stretch will be located in front of economy and will feature seats with 35 inches of legroom, special pillows and noise cancelling headphones. Mr Wallace stated customers are willing to pay for more legroom, citing "underlying demand" for this product. He noted Economy Stretch is a "step towards customisation" and will be "significantly" revenue positive. In the future, the carrier will offer Business Premier, Premium Economy, Economy Stretch, Economy SkyCouch and Standard Economy.
