Air New Zealand amends summer schedule due to global Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 TEN issues

    Air New Zealand announced (18-Nov-2019) summer international schedule changes as a result of ongoing global issues impacting selected Rolls-Royce engines on its Boeing 787-9 aircraft. The following services will be suspended with “around 14,000 customers” impacted by the adjustments:

    • Christchurch-Perth: Suspension of twice weekly seasonal service, resulting in a reduction of 62 frequencies;
    • Auckland-Perth: Removal of second daily frequency, effective 10-Dec-2019 to 05-Jan-2020;
    • Auckland-Sydney: NZ105 suspended 29-Dec-2019;
    • Sydney-Auckland: NZ108 suspended 29-Dec-2019;
    • Auckland-Sydney: NZ107 suspended 12-Dec-2019 and 02-Jan-2020;
    • Auckland-Sydney: NZ109 suspended 10/13/16/17/18/29-Dec-2019;
    • Sydney-Auckland: NZ110 suspended 12-Dec-2019 and 02-Jan-2020;
    • Sydney-Auckland: NZ112 suspended 10/13/16/17/18/29-Dec-2019;
    • Auckland-Tonga: NZ270 suspended 30-Dec-2019;
    • Tonga-Auckland: NZ273 suspended 30-Dec-2019.
