Malta Air Travel Limited (MATL) acquired Air Malta's slots for EUR58 million (Times of Malta/Malta Today, 19-Mar-2018). As previously reported by CAPA, MATL was incorporated by the government on 10-Jan-2018 to own and manage Air Malta's airport slots and lease them back to the carrier. Air Malta chairman Charles Mangion said the slots will be leased for a 20 year period with a 20 year option.
